Several cases of alleged rage syndrome have appeared on social media over the last few weeks. It isn't a new phenomenon, it is a long standing problem, first seen in Cocker Spaniels, later in others. It produces unexplained bouts of aggression and often a dazed behaviour afterwards. There is no cure.
Unfortunately this has lead to diagnosing by vets and even some behaviourists of rage for every problem in Spaniels and some other dogs.
Read our latest blog post about the condition and the real and false cases we have seen.
Some dogs are dead now because a bad diagnosis was made. Every biting Spaniel or other breed does not automatically mean Rage Syndrome.
